Jan 13  Chapter X Social   Time and location TBA.

From The Director:

It is with mixed emotions I write this December 2017 newsletter for Chapter X, as this will be my last as

Chapter X CD.   Debbie and I have enjoyed  leading Chapter X and have tried to make being a member of

Chapter X enjoyable.  Chapter X’s participants has dropped in numbers, but we hope all of you that are still

able to participate continue to do so with GWRRA, as Debbie and I are planning on doing.   At this time we

do not know what direction our chapter is going to take, but we will continue to participate where we are

able to.    We would like to thank all of the participants of Chapter X for your support over the last 3 years.

We could not have done what we have done without your help.

I also want to personally thank Sandy Winrich for continuing on as our chapter treasurer over the last 3

years and Roxane Purgett for being Chapter X historian for ?years :) .

We look forward to seeing all that are able to attend our Christmas Dinner at the usual place,

Wissota Connell’s Supper Club, on the 17th.

At the Christmas dinner we are asking for donations to two organizations in the Chippewa Valley area.

One is “Pay It Forward-Christmas Breakfast”.   This is a Christmas morning breakfast that is put on by a

core group of volunteers, held at The Community Table in Eau Claire.  The event is funded by donations from

the local area and 100% of donations are used for the event.  Donation needs for 2017 include:  hygiene

items, non-perishable food, towels/washcloths, packaged underwear/socks, new mittens-hats-gloves, new

or slightly used winter jackets/blankets, gift cards for gas-restaurants-bus tokens.

The second organization we will support this year is “The Family Support Center” in Chippewa Falls.  This

organization provides support to individuals affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, and

interpersonal violence.   They provide support through education, prevention, and intervention.  Items they

are in need of are:   healthy snacks, hand sanitizer, diapers, baby wipes, toilet paper, paper towels, school

supplies, facial tissue, large latex free gloves, sanitizing wipes, baby socks, new young girls underwear,

gas and grocery gift cards.

If there is anyone interested in being a Chapter X officer, please contact me.   I will forward your desire

to Frank Jackson, Wisconsin District Director.

The Educator:

Going into the winter months, be sure your two or three wheelers are stored properly so that when Spring

comes around, you will be able start a new journey!   Battery maintenance and protection from rodents are

on the top of the list.   It would also be good that your tires aren’t planted in the same spot on cement floors

for the winter months.

Continue to practice defensive driving during the winter months in your four wheelers.   This is a practice

that we all need to be kept very sharp.
