Happy New Year and welcome to 2019! Sharon and I, along with the District Team are looking forward to a great year ahead.
One of the things Sharon and I would like to do in 2019 is to personally contact each Member. We think this may go a long way to make sure every Member is welcomed and can participate at whatever level is good for them. We hope these contacts occur at a Chapter or District event, but we’ll make every effort. There are a few opportunities planned such as the Wisconsin District Ride In Picnic on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Pioneer Memorial Park in Westfield, WI. EVERYONE is invited. Menu is being worked out but there will be food!
One of the core principals of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association is Knowledge. In 2019 we hope to present several opportunities for Members to take advantage of the training GWRRA has to offer. These can be University modules that are very interactive and rely on participation by those in attendance. While we will try and hold quarterly training, we can also work to provide training at the Chapter level when possible. Look for information on what is available from your Chapter Directors.
On the Rider Education front, we have 2 activities already on the books for 2019. The first is the Medic Fist Aid courses being held in conjunction with our Winter Wing Fest on January 26 at the Hotel Mead. There will be 2 sessions (one in the morning (8:00-12:00) and another in the afternoon (1:00-5:00)). Later that evening we will have Wingo to add a bit of winter fun. We have a block of rooms being held at Hotel Mead for $82/night. Call 800-843-6323 and mention GWRRA to take advantage of this rate.
The second Rider Education opportunity is the Advance Rider Course/Trike Rider Course being held in conjunction with our Rally. We are working on getting Instructors, Bruce Gebhard and Jerry Hempe with ARC training to join our TRC instructor, Bob Von Rotz all certified to handle all training for the District. Tis has been a long journey and we’d like to thank them all for their efforts to support the Members of the District.
Here is a list of the District Team that work hard to support the Members of our District. Thank them all when you see them. They work hard supporting all the Members of GWRRA!
